Your support is needed!
Yes HNC needs funds to make our dream a reality, but your support, your importance to us, isn't just what you might provide financially. As a member of the community, you are who we want to work side by side with. To feel the accomplishment of bringing something special to Saint Albans. The idea/dream came about because community members had a vision, a need. It is now time to make that vision, that dream, a reality.
We sincerely hope you will lend your voice, volunteer, join the Board of Directors, and if able, donate.
The Dream:
A place where youth and adults can come and view/handle and learn about reptiles/amphibians/ insects and fish. (A destination)
Both native species and exotic. A place to learn about the science, conservation and feel connected to our natural resources.
A place where hobbyists can learn new skills and the best animal husbandry practices.
A place for local breeders to sell their animals.
A place where unwanted animals can be rehabilitated and adopted out into their forever home.
A place where hobbyists can come and meet like minded individuals.
A place where environmental organizations can have displays and reach the public.
A place where local artists and graphic designers can sell merchandise related to the animals etc.
A place where students interested in animal husbandry can do internships.
A place where hobbyists can purchase quality supplies/feeders/ animals and merchandise, locally.
What would you DREAM for the facility: ???
Not only will the HNC be a destination: our dream is to bring valuable educational programming that aligns with state curriculum into classrooms.
Work with partner organizations on the protection of native reptile and amphibian habitat.
Provide entertaining and educational programs for groups thereby removing stigma's and breakdown barriers and building a connection to our natural world through understanding.
